ABRA's Contest #3 Winner is.....

I hope everyone was able to dig themselves out of the big snow.  Here at ABRA HQ we received about 12" of snow over the weekend and from what I hear from a lot of you, that was nothing.  Everyone is dying to know who is the winner of contest #3, and I am happy to say the winner is Rachel Weaver of Pittsbugh, Pa. Rachel races for Steel City Endurance. Rachel guessed that there were 50 packets of Hammer Nutrition's Endurolytes in the jar.  The correct answer was 51 packets!  Over 100 folks submitted their guesses, but she was the closest without going over.  Rachel, you will have a ProGold Lubrication prize pack waiting for you at the Morgantown Road Race.  Congratulations Rachel!

Morgantown Road Race presented by Pathfinder of WV - APRRS #1

T-minus two short months and counting until the 2010 Appalachian Road Race Series gets under way!  The course is set for 2010.  The only changes will be a new start and finish location which will be at Gospel Tabernacle Church.  Parking at the event will also be at the church which is easily located just a few miles from exit #1 on I-79.  Also, look for Rising Creek Bakery & Cafe, a very cycling friendly business, to be supplying fresh baked munchies for us all.

The course will once again be 47 miles long with three major climbs.  You can find last year's race GPS information here, but please remember the new start/finish location for this year.  Also, as stated in last month's newsletter, we expect large numbers for this event and are planning on the Men's Cat 5 and Men's Cat 4/5 classes filling up.  We highly suggest registering for those two classes ASAP to make sure you get in.  Registration is open at Bikereg.com from now until the Friday before the race.  Preregistration fee is only $20; however race day registration is $30. USAC license required for Men's Cat 1/2/3 & Women's Cat 1/2/3 classes; one day licenses are available at race site for $10 for all classes. Race day registration opens at 9:00 AM, and closes at 11:30 AM.
